Microsoft SkyDrive - The Cloud Storage

Think about all of the different devices you use every day. Wouldn't it be nice if your files came with you, whether you're on your phone, Mac, or PC?

When you use SkyDrive, you'll never be without the documents, notes, photos, and videos that matter to you. Store anything on your SkyDrive and it's automatically available from your trusted devices no syncing or cables needed.

Any file, anywhere :

With SkyDrive, you can securely store your files and get to them from any of your devices, including your PC, phone, Mac, or iPad. You never have to worry about forgetting a file at home or work, because the latest versions are always automatically there for you.

Sync files between all your computers

When you download SkyDrive on your PC or Mac, your desktop SkyDrive folder is automatically created. Any file or photo you put in this folder will be automatically synced to your other devices that have SkyDrive.

To do this, download SkyDrive on all your computers. Click Run to start the installation, and then click Next to advance through the setup wizard.

And of course you can still get to your files anytime from any computer by signing in to SkyDrive.com.

Files on your phone and tablet

Use your phone or tablet to get the files and photos you’ve saved to SkyDrive—just download the app for your device.

1. Windows Phone

Fetch files from your windows PC from anywhere

Forgot to put something in your SkyDrive folder? No problem! As long as your PC that has the file is on and running SkyDrive, you can access any file you need—from anywhere. Here's how:

1. Download SkyDrive for Windows
2. Make sure you leave the box checked during setup that will allow you to
"Fetch your files from anywhere." (You can also choose this later by
clicking the SkyDrive icon (SkyDrive icon) in the notification area, at the far right
of the taskbar, and clicking Settings. On the General tab, under Fetch files
select Make files on this PC available to me on my other devices, and
    then click OK.)
3. Open your browser and sign in to SkyDrive.com.
4. Your PCs that have SkyDrive for Windows installed will appear in the
Computers menu. Choose the computer that has the file you want, and
you can view, print, or download the file you forgot.

In fact, you can browse through files just like you would if you were sitting in front of that PC. Want to show someone a photo on that home PC? You can view photo slide shows and videos on that PC from any browser, from any computer.

Secure Storage

You get 7 GB of free storage with SkyDrive—that’s enough for over 20,000 Office documents or 7,000 photos. For most people, this is plenty of space. But if 7 GB isn’t enough, you can add even more storage for a low yearly fee.

The files and photos you store in SkyDrive are protected by first-rate security features, including:

1. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encrypt your files when you
    upload or download them.
2. Sophisticated physical and electronic security measures on the
servers to help keep your files safe.
3. Multiple copies of each file saved on different servers and hard
drives to help protect your data from hardware failure.

You can also help strengthen the security of your SkyDrive by creating a strong password and adding one or more proofs to your SkyDrive account. Check the strength of your password now. Add a proof so that if you forget your password, or if your computer or phone is lost or stolen, your data is protected and will remain accessible to you alone.
